Just got out of bootcamp and made it to A-school. Had my P-7805u shipped to me and its boots and plays games so far fine but there is a random single beep that keeps happeing. Any ideas whats up? Nvm Bad company 2 locked during game play and that has never happened before...

Found this on the web: for Phoenix based BIOS:
1 Beep
A single beep from a Phoenix based BIOS is actually an "all systems clear" notification. Technically, it's an indication that the Power On Self Test is complete. No troubleshooting necessary!
But that doesn't solve your problem. -
pmassey31545 Whats the mission sir?
Never had that problem on mine. I would suggest clearing the BIOS-drain all power and pull the BIOS battery for 30 seconds. If that don't work, try disconnecting all un needed periferals and see if that will help.

How about an update? Did you get it figured out?

Had my 7805 since January of 2009. It beeps just like this all the time. I had to send it to Gateway twice (for other issues), both times they claimed to have replaced the motherboard.
It still beeps randomly now, in August 2010. However, it has never manifested serious issues, lockups, or BSODs. You will probably be ok.
The only problems I have experienced were when I tried any other graphics driver than the one it shipped with.
