I have had it not even a year and i am experiencing major lagging in game i use it as my computer i just put shot glasses under it to keep it from over heating it does not really get very hot
GPU is sitting at 68C when idling
any ideas?
-
ho hot does the GPU get when gaming? also do you overclock the video, if so what settings?
-
Its sitting at 67C noting a little lag now i did prop it up on shot glasses to give it more ventilation
That was black ops on everything full running at 67c
i am going to try another game i may have fixed that issue with my new ventilation ha ha ha -
how do i overclock the gpu ? on this
-
stayed at 75c the whole time
-
ok, so now it is working ok? If so and raising the system is keeping you cooler you may want to clean out the vents and fan.................
-
Invest in a laptop cooler after doing what Tanware said above. Don't set it on towels, sheets, pillows or LAP. The materials may block the vents underneath and it will get hot and overheat.
-
Don't bother even thinking about overclocking until you get the temp down 20-30 degrees!!

I believe your temps are normal for BIOS version 9C.23. From what I've read here the fan control is the same as 9C.20, where the GPU fan doesn't turn on until 80C and turns off at 67C. It's retarded IMO, and although those temps are fine for the GPU, 67C is too high for the internal components of the computer. The hard drive especially can get too hot from the GPU heating up the air temp inside so much. A laptop cooler will lower the idle temp a lot and so will switching to the 9C.17 BIOS.
As for your lag problem, you should use CPUz to check to make sure your CPU and GPU clocks are running at the max while gaming.
