I used Acronis to backup the original System prior to setting up a working RAID 0 system with new 320GB Seagate drives. I also had a working RAID 0 system wth the original 200 GB Seagate drive and an added duplicate. I was just wanting to have an original "factory" drive sitting on the shelf if ever needed or wanted it in the future.

Every time I "restore" the the original Acronis image to a single 200GB drive and it successfully runs through and completes the process, upon reboot all I get is a recycling of the reboot process. I even tried deleting the partitions and starting all over from the System Restore DVD's that I made, but I still get the exact same continuous reboot cycle. I've tried "Repairing it via the Vista Install disc, but it spaz's out and can't do it either... ??? I can navigate the image from any other machine I have Acronis installed on and all 3 partitions show up and I can explore around all those folders with no problem at all.

Am I missing something that would allow me to complete this mission???; or should I just move on....

I can use a clean install of the Vista DVD that came with the notebook and it works fine.

This isn't really a show-stopper; I just wanted a original factory system drive handy.

    Thanks in advance!

Update: Heh, guess this isn't of much interest in these here parts... LOL! At any rate; I think this anomoly may be because I flashed my BIOS to 08 just after the backup so maybe all those backups I did prior to the flash won't work either.... just an assumption for now, but that may be it.
