This just happened today for some unknown reason--everything was perfect ever since I got the laptop. My headphone jack will not output sound into the external speakers. Whenever I plug it in the headphone jack, it does not switch the sound to the external speakers. Instead it plays on the internal speakers of the laptop, either way. Any ideas? When I hover over the volume icon, it says "2-High Definition Audio Device". Is this correct driver?

I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate x64.

    EDIT:
Got it fixed. The driver got rolled back to generic audio drivers for some unknown reason. You HAVE to force install both the NVidia HDMI Audio and the Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 again.
