Because of severe overheating I've recently disassembled my P-7811 FX, cleaned everything and applied ICD7 on CPU, NB chip and GPU. I've also updated BIOS to 9c.25.00 (I've also tried 9c.23.00 and 9c.17.00), because it undervolts GPU to 0.90V (unless it's heavily used, then it switches to 1.11V). Unfortunately, I still have some problems with temperatures.

I've checked CPU temperature with HWMonitor and it seems that the fan starts spinning when CPU reaches 30°C and then it runs constantly even when the temperature falls to 12°C.

Moreover, even though I'm not doing anything apart from browsing the web my GPU temperature reaches about 80°C. The GPU fan manages to lower it to about 66°C, but then the temperature quickly rises again. Is that normal?

on 9c.20.00 and above the GPU will run hot, it should not do that on 9c.17.00 and below. The cpu seems to be wrong, it should cut off at those temps.......

Is it even possible for CPU temperature to be this low? 12°C is much colder than my room temperature (20-25°C).

It may not be 12c but really 112c, after 100c for some reason these systems circle around to 1c for the reading.............

Imo BIOS pulls the power-off switch if temperatures get so high. 12C is a lot too low to be true tho.

Actually I think it, bios, does so on the core average, I've seen mine at 7c with the old heatsink where the system is just giving you back the high reading from one of the cores. I am not saying this is it just it could be.

Agreed 12c where 20c is ambient is not normally possible........

I went back to 9c.17.00 BIOS and the problems seem to be solved.

GPU is nice and cool and never exceeds 70°C. Although I'm not quite happy with the fact that the GPU temperature is constantly rising when the fan is turned off (even when I don't play any games and don't watch any movies), there is nothing I can do with it.

CPU fan stops when temperature drops below 20°C, which in my opinion is still way to low, but for now at least sometimes my laptop is totally quiet. Is there any BIOS version that stops the CPU fan at higher temperatures than 20°C?
