P-7811FX is DDR3... supposed to be.

Download CPU-Z and you should find out there, but I would say it HAS to be DDR3, because the 7811 uses the PM45 chipset....

Download CPU-Z and check the memory tab. First thing on the page will say DDR3... or it should, heh.

where did you get it? the 7811 is a best buy exclusive, so at some point, if it is in fact a 7811, it was purchased from best buy. this means that it has ddr3 memory because, simply put that is what the 7811 mobo uses and ddr3 and ddr2 sodimm's are not interchangable(different number of pins). thus meaning that it is ddr3 because even if someone tried to screw you over by swapping your memory with ddr2 it wouldn't work because the ddr2 memory will not physically fit into that slot.

wouldn't the best way to check be to look at the ram directly? some programs specs components wrong. there's a program out there that says my c2d 2.1 ghz cpu is a 1.00 ghz pIII. go figure.

Check the SPD tab. It's indeed DDR3 buddy.

The area that says "DDR3" and the fact that the voltage reads "1.5V" gives it away that it is in fact DDR3 ;)

DDR2 runs as low as 1.8V IIRC.

Those timings are also far higher than any laptop DDR2 timings are.... usually.

    I think you're fine ;)
