sorry it didn't fix your problems but congrats. You now can run the battery fully down and then charge it while still playing game. Plenty of resever power.
180w isn't over kill. The laptop only draws what it needs, the idea here is plenty of reserve and head room. When the system is at it highest power consumption the 180w will be able to deliver cleaner and more consistent power. When you get close to a bricks limit creating alot of heat you also create alot of internal resistence and decrease the efficiency. you may then see larger porwe spikes , design capacitance of the 180w should be higher to eliminate this as a possible issue.
Someone else measured like 105w draw on these. Remember this is most likely an average not measuring the short term spike and peaks. This is dangerous for the computer.
So if you are a gamer and interested in long term game playability and longevity of your computers internal components the 180w is my personal recomendation to you............

I got it over a week ago. One thing I noticed is that the only tip that fits, fits somewhat weird. Definitely not as snug as the 120W plug. It was hot after gaming for an hour or so, wasn't "cold" like some people have reported.
