its such a pretty computer spec wise...

But i'm sticking with the 6860. I finally got home and i just couldn't wait until the 14th to get this new one. Though i might regret that later the 6860 has done me proud so i stick with it.
Though i did find something out... If you spend a crap load of money in best buy they upgrade your membership (with the rewards program) And I now get more rewards coupons and a 45day, zero restocking fee returns
So technically i can wait until all the good and bad is said of the 7811 and still return the 6860 for the new system

nah get the in store credit card. 18 months zero interest on large purchases like this.
0% interest on ticket items like this is how you keep your finances stable and happy. Plus you can build your credit with something that you love

Laptop...source or gaming pleasure and a higher credit score all in one package -

Aww. They dont have any at my location. What a jip!

Wow I was going to get the high end toshiba x305 but after seeing the price on this laptop now i'm starting to wonder, the components don't seem all that different except the processor xtreme x9100 and 9800m gtx 1gb in the x305 compared with the P8400 2.26 and the 9800m gts, but are the toshiba upgrades worth going from £734 on the gateway too £2099 for the toshiba.
PS. Does bestbuy ship internationally xD? -

=/ now if they could just shove it all into a 15.4 model and I would be set.
 -

as to toshiba x305,
i would get a p7811fx and wait for the x9300 (quad) and still save alot of money.
(whether the gateway bios will supports the quad is unknown)
as to the 9800gtx vs. 9800gts it is a serious upgrade - worth the (almost)triple price ? depends on the depth of your wallet.
BB does not ship Int. -

Thanks for the info royk!
Does anyone know a company that would ship the 7811FX internationally? -

I would for a nominal fee. I'll call it E-wrecked Intl Shipping
      -

when i bought my 6831 i was living in s.korea.
i got my brother to buy it for me and waited (a full month)until a friend delivered it.
alternatively you can get someone to buy iand then ship it like any parcel, just have in mind you may pay extra taxes this way. -

Im liking the 18month 0 interest, but Im still sure the wife will kill me.
 -

Bestbuy duznt accept international based credit cards!
 -

Gah, I don't know anyone in the US lol, and I wont be heading over there until next summer at the earliest.
 -

dont worry there will be a P-7811FX 2.0 by then.
 -

No BLUETOOTH!!! AHHHHHHHH!
 -

You're joking, right? $1500 for a laptop that others charge almost double for and you complain there's no $40 bluetooth card installed? Yeesh.
 -

i wouldn't mine that, i have never gotten a chance to use the bluetooth
 -

Bluetooth is standard now for every laptop and Gateway chooses to not include a $20 gimmick? That's unfortunate...
 -

 You're not missing much.
 -

LOL@standard for every laptop. You must have not been laptop shopping lately.
 -
With the RewardZone Silver you get a 45 day return policy on standard items. A laptop is not a standard item and the 14 days 15% restocking fee still applies. Just an FYI.
 -

I will be picking one up on the 14th and I am a previous 6831FX owner. With a T9300 and OC on the GPU I was able to squeeze 9980 in 3dmark06 (only once) and I averaged around 9700 all day long (I know this is far from the best, but it is still better then the new Sagers in most cases.)
I look forward to seeing what the new one can do
      -

I have never seen bluetooth as a standard thing on any laptop and Ive been shopping for laptops for a LONG time. Yes it may be a $20-$40 "gimmick", but thats how gateway gets away with making a gaming rig with so much power cost so cheap. As dook said this kind of power usually starts well over the 2-2.5k mark. So no bluetooth and using the same chassis as the previous model gets you into a serious gaming rig for half the price...All I can say is: Yes please!
 -
Go look at all the ASUS laptops.

Bluetooth sucks anyway, you can connect to stuff via wireless USB nowdays.

Plus you can install the bluetooth card yourself later; but who actually uses bluetooth unless they have some type of smart phone?
 -

Many current day wireless keyboards and mice use bluetooth, but they also come with a bluetooth USB adapter for the laptop as well, which makes it trivial.
 -

Yes, because everyone knows that Asus makes ALL laptops. Just let it go man.
 -

Exactly. If God himself made a laptop with quad SLI GTX280s, a 10Ghz Octo Core CPU idling at 1C and maxing at 3C, 64GB RAM, 3TB SSD RAID, a 22" LCD and 43 Hours of battery life all in a 15" form factor weighing 3lbs with a price of $19.99, people would STILL find something to b1tch about.
 -

i feel your pain man...i bought mine in mid june. s*** happens though.
fuhget about the 7811, where do i get me on'a dem!?!? -

LAWL!!! 22"LCD in a 15" form factor... like a muffin top fat girl in tight ass jeans. LOL
 -

The battery life isn't long enough to survive being stranded on an island, so therefore it is complete trash.
 -

Solar panels that draw power from the sun and the moon would fix that.
 -

God just ok'd the addition of solar and lunar panels, now you're all set.
PS-Quad, That avatar gets me every time I see it. You're a trip, my friend.
      -

On my desk in my 'office' at home, I have a USB mouse, but for the living room Ihave a bluetooth mouse (v470 I think) that I just leave there. For me, it's an excellent solution because I don't have to move a mouse from room to room and just as important I don't have anything plugged in and sticking out of my laptop.
It's also nice in the car with the kids watching "dvd" and listening to the movie through the in-car blue tooth. But for me, the laptop is big enough. The less I have have to carry around with it, the better.
Oh, and the P7811FX looks okay, if you like that kind of "high gaming performance at a reasonable price" type of thing.

Not having a blue-tooth certainly isn't a show stopper. But I wonder if it still has a phone jack. lol That's the 1 thing I think they should get rid of. I'm sure it takes up more room than bluetooth and I bet it's used less. -

Kamin_Majere =][= Ordo Hereticus
Nope God has to go through the proper channels and the board of directors has said that solar and lunar panels have to wait for the next chipset to come out.
So no perfect laptop for you!

Off topic much? lol
I like bluetooth. I wouldn't mind paying slightly more for it. Built in bluetooth can help save a USB port, something which the FX series is already short of. If the FX series had at least 4 USB ports, this would be a smaller problem. -

Kamin_Majere =][= Ordo Hereticus
I suppose that was 'a bit' off topic.
As to blue tooth, why not go for an Express port adapter. Most people never use the express 54 slot for anything other than holding their little fake card anyways
But i would indeed LOVE some extra USB ports. 4-6 seems to be a popular number for most people -

Bluetooth mice suck for gaming and 7811 FX is targeting gamers first and foremost.
And the scenario with having 2 mice is really situational, and doesn't make sense for vast majority of houses. If you want to use it on the living room couch there is a touchpad on it and the living room is generally not equipped with an ergonomic workstation that would warrant the use of outside mouse, and it's not very convenient to work from small bedside table with a separate mouse.
And listening to a movie doesn't make sense, if you can't see it. You can listen to radio? I mean I wouldn't want to pay to be able to listen to movies without seeing them. -

Nah. Not Really. The whole topic was based around people complaining about said 7811fx laptop. Plus, your response was pretty damn funny.
      -

Wow, great specs. I still feel good about getting my 6860 for $1099.
 -

 As you should.
      -

I'll be happier if they make this model as 15.4 instead of 17 because I'll be able to play games in native but lower resolution, which means more max setting at graphic.
 -

Not gonna happen. They are, however, refreshing the 6850FX(if you can even call it a refresh), which is the 15.4" model, but the graphics card is an ATI HD2600 and about 2 classes lower in performance. Its still a decent mid-level gaming rig tho and more portable.

P-7811FX Omg!
