    P-7812j FX; new lappy????

    Sorry to all if this is old news; just saw what I believe to me a new Gateway FX lappy on their support site:

    Looks about equal to the 7811, but with a blu-ray. Anybody know if this is already available, or expected release date, retailer and pricepoint?

    I am about to upgrade from my trusted M505XL and am very happy to see that Gateway again came out with great lappys just in time for me.

    I believe that model is for Japan only. Hence the "j".

    im really looking for a 7811 that ships internationally but since it is a BB-only lappy im afraid im not gonna get one..so if this has a similar specs and the possiblity of not being a BB-only lappy..thats sweet.. :) not gona be needing the blue ray but its a plus though..

    It is ONLY available in Japan. Just like the other models are only available in Canada. It's okay, just wait till the BluRay drop like 50 bucks in 3-6 months and upgrade your drive :)

    "j" indicates it's a Japan model. So you'll need a bit more effort to get this one into USA or CA. I'll go with 7811, because it's available in most Best Buy around you.

    Yep its a Japanese only model. Not a bad computer, but not something i'm willing to fly to japan for... throw in a couple of fatty tuna rolls and crazy japanese girls into the mix and you might have a sale though :cool:
