    Hello all,

I'm having trouble getting my SD card reader to work. That is, I physically can't insert the card into the slot. I went to Gateway's documentation and it said to remove any slot protector and then insert the card. It looks like there's a slot protector there; the orange lining around the laptop breaks and there's a small black rectangle that's not contiguous with the rest of the laptop; I can wiggle it a little. I assume that's the protector but I can't get it out! There aren't any finger holds and it won't respond to my (small) fingernails trying to pull it out.

Can someone tell me how to use my card reader?

push in the protector card, and it should pop out.

you push it in, and it comes out, have you never used an SD slot before?

Thanks. I didn't realize how hard I had to push it in; I was afraid to break it so i didn't go too hard. +Rep.

That was my first time using a laptop SD slot. On my camera you push a button to pop the card out and on my dad's desktop you just pull it out manually.

you have to put it in the boot options, set it as #1 or #2, doesnt matter as long as its before the hard drive and that the ones before it dont have anything bootable on them

I tried that and could not get it to go. The only options were like USB flash or something like that. Thought it would work but it didnt :(
