The HD-DVD optical drive takes the XL-FX elimintes it with Blu-Ray to be the winner. That does not break my heart. I really wanted a slot load with or without HD-DVD or Blu-Ray.

If I go with the X-FX, I will at some time upgrade the CPU. If I go with the S-FX, I will be doing jit just a little sooner.

So to my next deciding factor. Is the 17.0" WUXGA TFT Active Matrix 1920x1200 worth $400 to me, or do I want the exact same 17.0" WXGA+ Ultrabright TFT Active Matrix 1440x900 I have been looking at for 2.5 years.

    What would you do?

If you are gonna end up replacing the CPU anyway the Best Buy one is better but you'd lose the slot load and fingerprint reader.

I agree, plus you use your DVD-rom how many times a week? Like once for installing your game?

I have used the DVD-rom total of 5 times installings various things over last past 4 weeks. I use my USB flashdrive more like once a day.
