    Hey guys,

I got a P6831 2 weeks ago and have been loving it. I found a good deal on a T9300 so I bought it with the intent of overclocking it to 2.8ghz. With the new proc and oc'd 8800GTS I am pushing 9951 marks in 3DMARK06 under XP. I would like to break the 10k mark but I have yet to figure out how to overclock the proc since the bios is limited.

I downloaded SETFSB and found my correct motherboard settings ics9lpr501hglf but I am not really seeing it do anything.

My question is, is it possible to overclock the T9300 in this laptop and if so how is it done? If someone could post their exact settings I would really appreciate.

    Thanks in advance :D

are u sure the cpu clock generator chip on the mobo has these exact nos. "ics9lpr501hglf"....if not it wont work and might make ur system to crash....!!
if can get the exact PLL no. u cud OC it a bit but i dont think u ll be able to go much over 200MHz FSB..!!

Actually no, that might not be the # because I checked all of them and three different ones worked. Regardless it wouldn't let me overclock the chip so it may not work with this particular mobo.

Does anyone know the exact setting to use for the gateway?

it ll be hard for u to get the PLL no. from someone else since up and down the timeline....laptop manufacturers make changes to the motherboards....
its best that u open up ur laptop and locate the PLL chipp urself....
setfsb is not a very concrete software....wud advise u to use CPUcool....
check this site out if it has ur laptop listed and it wud help u to know how a PLL chip looks like.. :) CPUcool PLL List

I thought that only the x-chips are easily overclocked. Is there a workaround to the bios limit?

No luck I gave up. I am not about to take the laptop apart to find the PLL chip for a couple frames.
