Is there anyone out there who can help me. I'm having a problem with my laptop. When I try to boot up it gives me a msg saying BOOTMSG missing. Press control+Alt+Delete to restart. I need a recovery disk to fix this but mine was stolen during a robbery a few months ago. I'm in grad school and can't afford a new disk at this time. Please help me.

    have you tried calling Gateway?

Or someone else's Vista disc? Any vista disc should be able to recover your damaged files for you.

If you have access to another computer you can download gparted and fix that problem.

    http://gparted.sourceforge.net/download.php

Download it from another computer and burn it as an ISO. Let it run at bootup and fully setup. You will see all your partions and than right click and click on flags. You need to click on Boot.....

You can use gparted for lots of things Im dual booting windows 7 and Vista.....good luck
