    Hi! Will p6860fx support 4GB stick of RAM or 2GB is max for this model?

    Yes to 4GB but you'll need a 64bit OS.

    If that is the 965 chipset, I think it can only handle 2GB per slot.

    is there anyone 100% sure about max ram for 6860fx?

    Yes the chipset limits it at 2gb, but I distinctly remember someone saying 4GB sticks would show under bios. I might be remembering incorrectly though.

    The specs on my P6860 say upgradable to 4 gb. I use mine for graphics so it's still in great shape. I am planning on going from Vista to Windows 7, so I thought I'd add a 2nd HD (been meaning to do that since I bought it,) and upgrade the memory to 4 gb. I went to Crucial to do a price check, and now I'm confused. They say it's upgradable to 16 gb (2 - 8 gb) with Windows 7 64 bit. Can anyone here confirm this?

    win vista and win 7 have no influence on your hardware specs. max ram only depends on the motherboard. so it's not like you can have 4gb ram in vista and 8 or 16gb in win 7.
