    Hello,
Have had my 6860fx working great for a long time, vista 64 bit running great. 4gig of OCZ ram and a 7200rpm 320gb..
recently I have tried plugging in a 500gb iomega eGo external drive, this requires 2 USB slots, out of the 3. After plugging in both and the drive, i hear some power to the drive but no response from computer, taskbar, storage management.. I am wondering if this is USB2.0 issues? Or Device problems? In device manager, I have a multi-card usb device and ata drive in 'disk drives' and
1 Unknown device...wondering if I should resinstall/delte/update anything or download usb2.0 64bit drivers or something? Please help..Ive gone trying so many drives so far..

Ok I got a replacement iomega drive today and this time plugged only 1 USB2.0 into the rightsidded usb slot and tada works fine..
but the comp tech. said it may be my laptop over-volting the usb sockets..causing things to die, not my idea of my laptop UNDER-volting the usb2.0 hubs..
    :p
