So recently i downloaded this windows update and instantly i experienced crashing and freezes. It was so bad that it would even crash during reboots and the start up repair thing came up and i had to system restore. So after i did that, i turned off auto update. But for some reason it still did it, it had that icon for when you shut down it installs. So i left my laptop on or put it on sleep mode.

When i got home today and tried to play a game it would freeze for a second every now and again so i restarted it. Then after that it would just not start up. After i type my in password im stuck on the loading screen either to Crash or after a LONG time go to my desktop but it's weird because i cannot do anything and half the icons didnt even load.

I the reinstall is causing issues with Vista then there may be something else wrong. Have you cleaned out the CPU and GPU fans with compressed air?

Install Soluto to see exactly what is hanging on start up. Many of you in the forums would like this is it not only shows you your boot times but a clear timeline for what is happening when on system start. Its supposed to help identify ongoing problems but I personally haven't found it useful for that yet.

Yah i never cleaned it out with compressed air before. But the weird thing is even when it starts up it goes to my desktop but i cannot do anything if i try to open a program it loads forever and eventually my windows explorer crashes over and over again until my laptop crashes and it does it again. Im trying to format right now and reinstall windows 7 clean.

How exactly do you format cause when i bought the laptop it was used and didnt come with any CD's
