Hey, I have a problem with the power light and the media bar lights on my P7805u FX series Notebook.

A couple days ago, the power light and media bar lights came on when the notebook was turned on, which is completely normal. But now, when I turn on the power button, the light doesn't turn on and the media bar lights do not turn on either. The touch-sensitive volume lights work perfectly.

The media bar buttons work fine, but they do not light up, and I tested the hotkey for the status lights and it makes no difference--the power light is dead and the media bar lights are dead.

I'm not sure what to do exactly. Is it a motherboard problem? I heard the proper solution is to buy a power button board--but does that also fix the media bar light problem too?

    Help me out please!!

Have you tried to turn them back on?

Its either FN+f1 or FN+f2 (i dont have my FX in front of me right now)

Its the FN with the light bulb. It basically lets you "go dark" when watching movies or gaming in a dark room

Yeah, I've used the FN hotkey for turning them off and on, and while the bottom lights go off and on, the power button and the media bar lights stay off. >.<

hrm... have you recently done anything to your system? (i.e. taking it apart, messing with the OS, messing with the registry, etc)

The lights burning out before the computer is odd... It is possible to just replace the media bar/circuit board for media bar as its seperate and just connected with a small wire.

But if the FN key combo isnt working to fix it about the only other options are:
    > live with out the lights
    > replace the board
    > Take the board out and attempt to reseat it in hopes its a lose connection
    > hope someone else has figured out a solution because i'm out of ideas

Yeah, I need to find a place with a circuit board for that purpose.

    Any ideas/suggestions?
