We all may have to do this one day. What I have found with the P7805 and Windows 7 it is best to;
1.) if you go to BIOS and enable IDE mode with the PartMagic bootable CD you can use Erase HDD without a password or trying to unfreeze the SSD
2.) while in IDE mode Windows 7 restore CD works right from an image on the second HDD if you have one, much faster than a USB image restore and the creation of the image is faster too.
AHCI mode for me would not restore, failed several times.
Created image in Windows 7 all default drivers.
Without a mod to registry be sure to boot back in AHCI mode or reboot loop will ensue.
3.) With a Sandforce 2 drive "Restore from an earlier point" killed my trim. 60 plus hours later logged off and performance never restored. I have now disabled it and use the storage drive to keep a current OS image.
Edit;
I originally installed from a HDD image. I found a guide that suggested to take the SSD and do a Repair/upgrade from the original CD to enable all the default SSD Windows 7 tweaks. It seems to have done fine for me.
With doing that though I also freespace defraged and then saved the back up and did and SE with reload of the saved image just to be absolutely sure............
