I have the stock 2.26 2.27 processor in right now...

I was wondering what upgraded processors anyone else was using and if anyone could tell me if I'll see a huge performance boost from upgrading to a better processor? And if so, which one should I go with?

As for right now, I upgraded to 9c.12.00 and so far so good. Im not sure if I'll have any sound issues as of yet, but im waiting to see.

I have another Momentus 7200.2 200 on the way and when it gets here I'll do raid 0 to take advantage of extra space for my 250 gigs of music.

One issue I have notice in the past though, when I upgrade to Vista Ultimate, after about 10 restarts, I start to have display issues. I would have to hard power off and back on a few times just to get a clean boot to where I could see someting. Anyone ever have this issue? Since then I have down graded back to Home premium

And sorry if i did something wrong, I'm new here.

Capper, me and I think someone else too did upgrade to the T9900

Fantastic processor, run cool even after hours of gaming (all my temp are under 70 C and I did not undervolt)

Installation is a breeze (follow Capper's guide and use ICD7 as thermal paste)

Just keep the vents and fan clean and make sure that you laptop has a gap of 1-2 inches between the chassis and the surface for better ventilation...I personally use 3 CD cases taped together.

You will notice a significant boost in performances, especially for CPU intensive applications....

    Highly recommended...

    Get it

    Regards

You need to be much more detailed when describing your problem. I cannot understand the problem you are experiencing. "Display issues" is about as vague as it gets. What do you mean by a "clean boot"? Did the problem disappear after downgrading back to Home Premium?

Here is the video guide I put together for replacing the CPU and thermal paste. I've been meaning to redo it, but have had some family issues to deal with.
