Which OS is best for our laptops?

    which utilizes the memory best?

I've heard that XP x64 and Windows 7 x64 will do a better job than Vista x64.

However don't know what's better, XP or Windows 7.

People who have tested both, please provide your input. Thanks.

My opinion would be Win 7 > Win Vista > Win XP (installing XP on SATA drive is not an easy task provided you have enough time). An updated 64 bit Vista is not bad.

I currently have Vista 64-bit. I assumed that with each OS coming out, requires more RAM. That's why I figured I'd ask someone who has more experience than I. Whether or not the latest OS are utilitizing the memory better than before.

    thanks for the response.

The real advantage of Windows 7 is that its polished a few basic features for better productivity for a normal user(Snap and Jumplist features). Thats why i upgraded to Windows 7. But remember its build on Vista core. Stability is almost the same. Windows 7 is a little light on the system. Well offcourse there are other good features to Windows 7 as well . But i'd suggest is wait till the prices come down. If you can get it for 50$ well and good.

I have had Windows 7 on my notebook since RTM. I have a hard time going back to XP now mainly because I can begin using the OS as soon as the desktop appears.
