Yeah i doubt the legal system would care too much about the overclockability of a CPU in a laptop :p

Agreed, but they do care about false advertisement. Problem is getting enough complaints to the legal system for it to take notice. Based off one or two complaints I doubt they would do much if anything. Civil litegation may be the only recourse, then try and find a lawyer who cares knowing when you get a bios you will run from the suit and leave them holding an empty bag with no financial reward..............

Sorry if this is a total n00b question.

I am looking to update my BIOS to get the SLIC 2.1 table as my Gateway P-7803h only has 2.0. I have not seen any mention of my particular model so just wanted to know if the IaTa BIOS will work on my system and if there are any quick readme's on the process. I just don't want to brick this thing and have to send it back 1500 miles to where it came from...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit : Nevermind, I actually clicked on the stickied bios thread. :)

Can someone explain to me how to do the bios update?

I was told that this could fix my fan problem that I have since after a while, it goes full speed for 1 second than stop, than full speed than stop.

    Computer is P-7803h-CA.

I have been searching to know how do the bios update but never found an answer. Isn't is strange also that I can't find any information on the gateway website for what the bios update does.

    Thanks for the info!
