Basically I keep hearing the sound you get when you plug something into a USB port followed by the unplug sound, but I don't have anything plugged in. Everything is working fine, but it's getting rather annoying. I've tried using the Device Manager, but there's too much stuff to see a difference.

This seems to have just started today or yesterday and the only thing I remember doing is installing new updates via Windows Updater.

Have you modified your notebook at all (added a bluetooth card, new network adapter, extra HDD, etc)?

    Nope. All stock.

Edit: Okay, it looks like the wireless printer I recently installed. Any way to stop this?

about the only thing you can do is configure it to only connect when you want to print, or improve the connectivity/signal strength.

I personally disable everything at startup using "MSCONFIG". Click on "START" > "RUN" > choose "STARTUP", and then disable everything you dont want automatically starting when you boot your notebook.

Then, whenever you want to print something, you'll have to manually start the printing application, as it wont be running in the background.
