Which .inf file are you guys using with the 177.39 drivers? Can I play and give them a try?![]()
-
using the 175.35 off of nvidia's site and just added the strings for my card in the original inf.
-
I lost a LITTLE bit of performance with these drivers and there are SOME texture issues in Conan, but overall I like them and sticking with them.
-
-
hold on guys.... just go into your ntune control panel and set it to quality, then run AOC. and let me know what happens. i dont have age of conan yet, so i cant run any test on it just yet.

Time to find modded inf and try PhysX again -
-
Someone on lv2g has already stated that PhysX still doesn't work with these.
To be honest I think it's update PhysX drivers that we need. -
in other news....
the new crontrol panel is off the hook!! it works like it's suppose to and it has the shader slider. wooohoooo!! -
Shader slider?
-
yeah. ntune was missing the shader slider for a while now, but now it's back
-
John,
any chance you can post an .inf file to get the 177.41 drivers to work on our system?
Vista64
P-6860FX -
i can try.... or try to find one made already
-
Just for you hehehemann...
177.41 modded infs:
Vista x86: http://rapidshare.com/files/125155708/nv_disp.inf
Vista x64: http://www.mediafire.com/?cpx0df7iaz5
XP x86: http://www.mediafire.com/?4toyaud1ags
XP x64: http://www.mediafire.com/?j1comkanvjy
Going to try Vista x64 now...
EDIT: I couldn't get the Vista x64 modded inf to work so going to try this version instead, it has the full setup files and modded inf already incorporated:

EDIT: That driver worked but PhysX still not enabled as predicted. -
John: What slider clock are you using? My 8800GTS seems to oc about the same as yours.
Thx man. -
Hmm.. so, what shader should we try for our cards? I have always used the old nTune, so never worried about sliders. And the last card (desktop) i have OCed was a 7800GT, so a separate shader clock was never an issue.

I just tried the UT3 PhysX maps obviously without hardware PhysX enabled and the frame rate was terrible. PhysX effects didn't look that good either. Just looks like they've been put there for the sake of it - exploding wall / bricks for example.
I hope devs start using it in imaginative ways now that it's mainstream. -
http://www.planetphysx.com/weblog/archives/physx_enabled_games/ -
Well there were a shedload of bricks when you blew up a wall and the frame rate was awful so I'm guessing those are the PhysX 'effects' just running very slowly due to not having dedicated hardware.
-
this is another reason why i said they may need an on/off switch...because older cards will have a hard time of it (some games) if physx is enabled on them. because that's about what will happen if your card cant keep up. (speculation of course)
-
well friends...it does enable under windows xp. wooohoooo!
-
nice as it is
i will not install xp for that -
my system is a dual boot.
-
actually i thought you have all flavors xp 32/64 vista 32/64
-
mm someone on laptop2go forums said that the PhysX would not actually help laptop cards but rather be only beneficial to those with desktop cards? I think he said it's because enabling PhysX lets your GPU do some calculations or something leaving your CPU to idle which would push desktop users to want to get another card to use in SLI so you can have one that calculates and another that does the normal GPU stuff, but for laptop cards it'll just put more strain on the card and create too much heat.
True or false? -
-
What installs under XP - PhysX? -
physx. and with drivers as low as 175.xx
-
Really?! You are the first person that I know of to get PhysX working on G92M.
So in the PhysX control panel the 'GeForce PhysX' option is selectable? -
trying to be the first person to get it working under vista 32 bit. where it really counts most.
-
How did you get it working under XP x64 - did you do anything special?
Have you tested performance? -
edit: can't tell if it working or not under xp, but seems to only be sort of working. trying to run cell factor demo and it says,"physx's hardware not detected..blah blah blah" -
Yeah I don't think Cell Factor works for any1 unless you have a proper PhysX card.
Can you run 3DMark Vantage with PhysX drivers installed and uninstalled and see what results you get:
http://www.guru3d.com/news/nvidia-physx-quick-test/ -
I've got 177.39 installed on my P-6831FX, as well as the NVIDIA PhysX System Software, Version: 8.06.12 WHQL, which you need to install also.
Anyway on my system, when I go into the PhysX Properties Settings, I can't activate any one of the Hardware selctions, GeForce PhysX or the Aegia PhysX. They are both grayed out.
So while the Nvidia video driver works, the PhysX portion doesn't seem to work on the 8800M GTS.
. -
-
That's a good point! I wonder what else you could test - UT3 maybe?
-
they have a demo laying around?
-
Just read that the UT3 PhysX mod pack is for the full version only. There must be something you can test - let me think.
-
well just let me know if you find something.
-
http://www.warmongergame.com/ supports hardware PhysX and it's free.
This is a good list too:

I found this onlaptopvideo2go
NV PhysX Tweaker 1.0
I downloaded it and it let me turn physx on or off, but it didn't make a difference in the physx control panel.
