So, I bought a used laptop for my daughter, 2 days in and we get a black screen. Now, I am not a computer whiz, but I would not consider myself stupid either.
So I did a lot of troubleshooting myself. It's not the Ram, nor the hard drive, After 3 weeks I tried to turn it on and got a VERY faint screen where I could just barely see that everything is working but NO visibility, So I did the obvious and made sure my screen resolution was set right, still nothing.
After a lot of trial and error activities, I have come to the realization that I believe my GPU needs to be replaced, however, the GPU is Integrated Nvidia GeForce 9 series. I have seem alot of people saying that the sodder melts and causes problems and that it may be possible to bake in the oven at 385 degrees for 5-10 minutes.
I am VERY worried about blowing it up along with my oven, but I am also at my last straw, Can someone tell me do I need to take anything off the motherboard to do this? Again? I am not stupid. Just not as smart as you people LOL

Did you try it with an external screen?
Might be just the backlight or the inverter. -
I did try it with our desktop screen and still nothing. The screen only turns on every once in awhile and when it does you can barely see it.
I am thinking on baking it tonight??? Do you know if I need to remove anything from the motherboard to bake it? -
I have the laptop completely apart and looking at some of those parts makes me a little weary on baking it haha

I'm not good a cooking, but maybe cover the parts that might melt with foil.
