Hi, I'm looking at a gateway 7807u fx laptop, I would be mainly using for internet/gaming, 2-3 hours a day tops.

I was just wondering if their are any known problems with these laptops? I basically want a laptop that I can take out of the box and be reliable for 1-2 years. It is a desktop replacement as I don't use a computer a whole lot, and don't want to take up too much space.

I have been browsing the problems, but don't see too many posts about problems with the p7807 series.

Just looking for some input here, thanks

It's pretty much the same as a 7805u except it has the slightly faster P8600 CPU.

I would say what you read here regarding the 7805u should reflect the 7807u.

I've had no problem with mine and would certainly recommend one.

They don't come with a lot of bloatware so it only takes a little effort to remove a few "unwanteds" and it should be good to go as any PC. Of course, you'll want to intstall your favorite AV program, too.

Enjoy and welcome to the board.
