    Hey fellas,

I just found this board out of necessity. I have a P173x-FX.

The other day my wife came home and said her lap top wouldn't turn on so I did the usual husband stuff, check if it's plugged in and what not. Then I decided I would check the A/C Adapter and when I removed it from the computer and plugged it back in the LED came on. So I plugged it back into the LT and the LED went dead.

So I thought the A/C Adapter had gone bad so I went and bought a replacement for it. Brought it home and when I plugged it into the LT the LED started flashing. So I called the manufacturer and they told me they didn't support this model.

So I took it back and got a new one from a different manufacturer. plugged it into the LT and the LED on the Adapter started flashing just like the other one.

I have never had any luck with the G33K Squad guy's so I checked with Data Dr. and they said it was most likely the soldering at the connection had come loose and it would be $400 to fix it. Being pretty handy I thought I would re-solder it and save $395.00.

So here I am I found and followed the sticky about disassembly of the laptop so I have it disassembled down to the MB. And to the naked eye I can see no loose connection/soldering on the small board.

I also do not see any visible damage to the MB. Any help is greatly appreciated at this point. One last thing my wife does leave the laptop plugged in if it makes any difference.

    Thanks for your time...
