    known issue from the 6831 days, no one reported it escalating to non functionality, explosion or house fire. (yet)

    lol..don't tape it, HEAT!. Exchange it for a new one.. go to best buy, if you recently purchased and demand a new one. OR order a higher quality, seems most people are using a Targus model.. or, just kick it under a table where you can't hear it. ;)
