On the orange media control panel just below my laptop's monitor, the sliding volume bar. It seems to have stopped working from one boot to another, I'm not sure what happened. I can still change the volume options through the windows slider...but I'd really like to try to fix this slider button. Is there some option in the control panel that I'm completely missing that somehow turned it off for me? The rest of the media buttons are working fine...

*Edit: I've done a system restore to 5 days ago when I installed vista 64 service pack 2. This didn't change anything, the slider is still not working. I definitely remember the slider still working after I installed this service pack.

Do the - and + symbols turn orange when you slide your finger?

My friend has the exact same problem and I believe it's a hardware problem.
