I bought a gateway NV5813H two days ago. The fan is on when the notebook starts and never stops for a second. The blowing noise is driving me crazy.
Is this the design of NV58 or merely something wrong? If it's naturally this way, I'm think of returning it to the store now. Such noise.
    Thanks.

Can you download HWMoniter and post a shot of your temps? If they are normal then it might be a buggy fan and you should swap it out.

    One more thing.

Is it runnign all the time, or runnign on HIGH all the time. All laptop fans will spin constantly, so if you are sensitive to the harmonic then you might just be noticing it more than a normal person would

Thank you. I've downloaded HWMoniter and found the fan acting generally in accordance with the temperature of CPU.
What's amazing is after running HWMoniter, the fan seems to have become normal. It just won't constantly blow with its whole capacity any longer and even has stopped now while I'm typing these word. Perhaps it has the children's idea that someone monitors so behave well :)
