I recently purchased a Gateway ML3108b, when i started it, it was on vista. (That sucks already). Here is what i dont like about it :

    1. Its runs slow...
    2. Crashes most of the time.
    3. Carnt Run multiple Programs

I was thinking of putting my Gateway ML3108b on windows xP but i dunno how fast it will improve. [ HELP] - Please.

When i asked my friends they said i would need the drivers if i go on windows xp. But im not sure about what im gonna do.

First, I see 2 things not helping your situation on speed. A AMD Sempron™ Processor 3400+ and 512MB 667MHz DDR2 . The Intel c2d's will run circles around that for speed and you should run atleast 1 gig of ram, imo.
As for the crashing the 512MB 667MHz DDR2 isn't helping it i'd be willing to bet.
How long have you had this notebook?

of course we will help you out but

you need at least 2gb of ram for for vista because
512 will allow you to run 2 programs before slowing down and
    1gb about 3-5 programs.

and this is after a fresh install. so after you install all your favorite stuff you computer will be useless

i suggest you getting 2 gb of ram
and because you have a sindle core amd i suggest xp to you to but try the ram first it helped my on my old acer 3680

Dondadah88 is correct. You should upgrade your ram. It's pretty cheap and easy to install. That alone will make a world of difference.

    You need 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) for your notebook.
2 gig will be fine. Just by adding that your notebook would run faster.

    If money is a issue.
Just add 1 gig of ram with your current stick of 512 and it should be ok. You later can add another 1 gig of ram and then it will be running at it's best.

ooh you will have 1.5 gb of ram which is fine for vista

but you should have 2 of the same ram just for stabilty

but 1.5 gb of ram is good alot better than 1gb and remarkble better than 512mb ram

my gateway ml3108b only came with 512mb of ram ,it took forever to start and was virtually unusable so i bought 1 gig of 667 ram , slots in under little flap on bottom now runs great on 1.5 gig ram , counter strike and w.o.w play fine online... vista uses 850mb to 950mb ram at idle...olso gateway laptops dont ship with a recovery cd u have to make one from your laptop it only took my laptop 6 mins to wright the recovery dvd ,if u format without it youll have no vista to go back to as going to xp seems to be a nightmare and windows will stop supporting xp soon.
