When I first got this laptop, I installed Winamp 5. A few days later, I opened up winamp and recieved an error. The error read something like: blah blah blah..."0x00000004. The memory could not be "read"'. I simply re-installed winamp, proglem solved.
A few weeks later, I started getting this same problem on StyleXP... Reinstall did not work this time. My boss (I work for a computer build/upgrade/repair company) said it was my memory. I ran some thorough memory tests (off of a Boot CD created by an image i got from Microsoft, which led me to discovering the same error on NERO [had to burn off of dif. comp.]) The memory tests came out ok. So, I opened the back cover and removed the 256mb stick from the back bank and left the 512mb stick (under the keyboard) in. Error remains. I did the same, but with the 512mb out and the 256mb in. Error remains... I am stuck
Maybe it's the hard drive. I tried disabling paging in windows, error remains. I read somewhere that it may be the CPU, any help?

It's possible the HDD is starting to fail. If it's not writing to the HDD correctly, you will get the errors popping up all over the place. Even apps you didn't previously run, may exhibit these problems. Try running some diags on your HDD and see what happens. If it is your drive, you need to get that replaced.
