    Hi all,

Maybe I didn't look hard enough, but I couldn't really seem to find this out.

I've removed some of the more useless stuff on the 6860 like Norton and a few other things. I forgot what they were but I knew I would never use them.

Can anyone recommend any other things I can remove or stop in the 6860 to increase performance?

What about removing the synaptics entirely? I plan to only use my mouse.

    Thanks in advance.

you could remove the software for the touchpad but really its not going to help performance a huge amount. I would look in msconfig for the startup items

I ended up removing the game program (wild tangent i think its call), i disabled the bluetooth(FINALLY!!!), the camera, the preinstalled antivirus, the back up software.

Then i took everything out of start up

Then i went through the MSCONFIG to disable alot of start up programs and back ground services (usually following the Vista tweeks guide avalable on this site and over the net)

Then i started playing with the registry to disable my caplocks (turned it into another shift key), change my boot/shut down times, and give myself a WEI of 6.3.

After that I ran CCleaner to ferret out anything that i didnt want just clogging up my hard drives

It was a pretty clean system after that.

But i dont recommend disabling your touchpad... I use a mouse 99% of the time but sometimes its just useful to have a touch pad for those other 1% and it would suck to have to restart or reinstall it to make it work.

All right, thanks a lot for the answers. Could I possibly get a link to the vista tweeks guide here? I'm Going to look for it on my own but I'm at work right now.
