Purchasing P-6831FX thru BB...Warranty?

Just spoke to Gateway CSR and the best he offered me was 10% off and free shipping on the $1599 model.

The interesting bit was he said that if I purchased the BB retail version, then even though that comes with a 1 yr G/W warranty, the number is NOT TOLL-FREE . He also said that phone number charges are like $1.99/min and you are responsible for shipping your laptop out for repair! Buying it directly from G/W gives u FULL unconditional warranty which offers toll-free support and free repair shipping (under warranty), per the CSR.

I dont really know if this is true or not but Im going to check out the demo unit at my local BB right now and I will confirm this with BB.

No wonder the BB version is selling for so cheap.

I called up a Gateway rep yesterday, and he told me that the world was going to explode if I didn't buy a computer from him. Thank god I bought 3, I just saved your lives people!

If you buy a laptop through Best Buy, Best Buy will service it.
