    I thought I read somewhere that the new Intel Mobile Quad processors would only be compatible with the 975 series motherboards and above where as the ones we have are 965. Hope this helps. God Bless :)

    Actually, the Penryn Quad CPUs should be pin for pin compatible with any Penryn Socket. I'm not sure if Gateway will support them with their BIOS though.

    If I had one I would plug it in. I bet you have a good chance if it working...

    I really hope you are right and hope that we get some kind of BIOS upgrade so it will recognize the quad processor, it would really make this laptop a Bang for the Buck for many of us. God Bless :)

    if you are talking about QX9300, the ETA is Q4 2008.

    Well i see alot of talk, but be ready to spend a pretty penny on this CPUs, most likely will be north or 500 for the cheapest one.
    No word yet on if the FX will work with them.
