So my stock P-7801u GPU temps when idle or web browsing start at around 40-41C and slowly climb up to 49-51C over the span of 5-10 minutes whereupon the fan kicks in and brings it back down to 40-41C and the process repeats.

I was wondering if it was normal for the GPU to be constantly heating up even when idle since I've seen in the ICD7 thread and other temp related threads that most FX users have idle temps in the 38-44C range.

I'm using 195.62 official drivers, the laptop is propped up off the desk, and the ambient temperature isn't particularly hot (~20C).

That's normal with the stock TIM/thermal pad.
