When I first got my notebook I was extremely excited until I noticed the AC adapter sticking out a bit from behind the notebook. Now I have been going back and forth with tech support for the last five to six months now trying to get this sorted out. Every time I talk with someone they say, "yeah that doesn't seem right.", until I get this one guy on the phone who puts me on hold to actually get a notebook that is the same model as mine and see what it was I was talking about and he said that his did the same thing and that it was normal. So my question to anyone who does or has owned the P-171 FX series notebooks, does your AC adapter plug stick out a little from the back, enough to see some of the metal from the end of the adapter? I personally can't see this as being normal but every time I send it in and get it back nothing has changed.

No I don't have a picture, but I will try to explain a little more into detail this time. The end of the AC adapter that plugs into the back of the notebook, mine sticks out a little when plugged in. When I say sticks out I mean, it doesn't become flush with the notebook, you can see a small amount of the metal connector from the AC adapter plug sticking out of the notebook. It just doesn't look right to me, with every electronic I have ever owned I have never had an AC adapter not fit all the way.

If it works it may be better to just live with it than part with your lappy for a month and get it back in worse condtion then you sent it out in... IMO

I thought about that but what happens when this small problem becomes a big problem? I am not willing to let a company walk all over me just so I don't have to deal with a little inconveniences. Plus if my notebook is sent to me in worse condition then guess who's going to pay for that, it surely isn't going to be me. I mean I bought a fairly expense piece of equipment why shouldn't I expect everything to be right with it?

If this is the way the notebook was designed fine I will live with it and will just learn to not buy another Gateway notebook again but if this is wrong then I will not let this go until it is resolved.

If this were a $10 alarm clock then I wouldn't be so inclined to try and get this issue solved but I had to make a few harsh sacrifices to get this and if I have to deal with a few nightmares to get my problem addressed then so be it.
