....I have a question regarding replacing lcd screen. When you remove the screws and pry open the front bezel, does it come completely off? Or does it just open up enough to be able to remove the screen? First time doing this, so I am curious as to what I might expect with this model fx 6860. I appreciate any replies. :)

Thanks for the reply, but I do not want to take the lcd completely off like in this example, I just want to switch out my current lcd with a different one. In this example it looks as if the person completely removed the entire top assembly, front and back bezel including the lcd. I do not want to do this :) just swap out lcds.

removing the front bezel will let you remove the lcd for replacing just by removing the little rubber balls around the bezel and removing the screws.....just be careful cuz their still plastic clips holding the bezel removing it to violently will break them.....

Thanks Lightgam3r, do you know, does it come completely off? I do not want to try and force it off and break it.

No I was not referring to picture 8. I was just wondering if when you remove the six screws and unsnap the front bezel from the plastic clips if it comes completely off, or if it stays on connected to the bottom hinges, if you understand what I am talking about :) From what I understand from your reply, it does come off completely?

I See What Your Saying Yes If I Recall Correctly If U Trying To Remove The Screen It Will Take The Hinges With It So Refereeing To Picture 8 Will Be Necessary To Replace The Screen Difficult But Necessary. Sorry I Was Confused Thats Why Been A While Since I Took My Laptop Apart Its Not The Same Model But It Has The Same Structure....so Yes Removing The Whole Screen Will Be Necessary To Replace The Lcd Sorry

Thanks for the help. I replaced my 1400x900 with a 1920x1200 lcd with no problems. The hardest part for me was not the bezel, but the internal bracket screws, they are soo tiny and I have big and shaky hands it was hard for a while to put them back on, but I eventually figured it out. :)
