So I want to upgrade the processor on my p-7915u fx to the x9100 and just have a few questions about it.

First do I need to do a bios update or is it supported out of the box?

Second, have people had any thermal issues after upgrading as it looks like the 9100 may run a little hotter than stock?

    Thanks

It is supported, no BIOS update necessary.

If you overclock and overvolt it hard, then yes you will have thermal issues, otherwise it runs fine.
