First, Id like to thank the community here for all the generous information I have taken away from you guys. Right on!
Ive had a great 2.5 years with this laptop, Great Buy! No complaints!
But the times keep on rolling, And it seems to be falling behind with my latest games. Dota2, CS:GO...etc.
It seem the FPS I get DRASTICALLY drops from a steady 100-90 fps to about 20-0 fps every couple of seconds. Due to this i decided it was time for some cleaning. Formatted, Got new drivers for everything, Cleaned out the keyboard... The usual maintenance thing.
My Question is, Is this something people are experiencing now?(FPS drops) Or is this just a hardware(maybe even software) issue on my side. If so any answers to way this is happening?
Due keep in mind this is freshly formatted with all the latest updates from Win7, WiFi, Bios, Chip set, Sound, Video..etc. And my GPU/CPU temp never enters a high phase, 75%max.![]()
Is time for a GPU upgrade? Is it possible? If so, Whats a really good video card I can pick up? Price at lest reasonable. 200-300$ max.

Sounds like a throttling problem... might wanna set everything for max performance and see how it goes. If you're getting 100-90 fps with spikes its got nothing to do with your hardware needing an upgrade... somethings gotta be wrong on the hardware/software end.
And, you can't upgrade the GPU of this laptop unless you're really really crazy good at soldering electronics and you know how to wire it in. -
1 Last question for youCleaned out my motherboard and things seem to be running smoother, Is there some way i can control my fan speed? My bios doesn't have the option, and It wont show fans on Speed Fan or MSI afterburner.

There is no GPU compatible with the MB unless you replace the GPU chip that is soldered to the MB. Bsides this you then have to hack the bios for the new GPU. Since no one has done this yet you have no garenty it would work either. If you were to do this though the best bet is the 260m as it is essentially a 9800m GTX. This may be pointless though as the P79xx main board fits right in and has better power handling......................
