Hey guys, i just bought the 7525 and so far i love it. Great gaming power when plugged into power. My question is with the power unplugged im running at 755 mhz. I installed the original doom, and doom 2 and they run a bit choppy off the battery. Is that normal? WOuld some new processor drivers help? Or is that just how it is? Ive never owned a laptop before so hopefully i dont sound completely retarded for asking this lol.
    Thanks guys!
    Mike

Uscooper is working on a guide that will answer this question for so many people.
Yes, it is normal that your laptop runs at 755MHz on battery. If it didn't, you would rarely see 1 hour of battery life. You can change this, though, by going into the power settings (in the control panel) and switching it to 'Always On' under battery. Like I stated above, you will yield very unsatisfactory battery life.

hellmans is right. While gaming on battery your battery life will stink... because you need to run the CPU at full speed for the best performance. The CPU is one of the most power-hungry things. running at 775-800 mhz (this is a result of your fsb fluctuating from 199-200 which is normal), your CPU voltage is about 50% less than at 2.6

You should also take in consideration that GPU (with PowerpLay enabled) also uses a lower clock running on batteries, GPU would go down to 122Mhz (mem and clock). That affects gaming performance also.
If you put CPU and GPU on highest clock remember to put LCD bightness down to extend your playing....even though battery life will be very short anyway.
