Just picked up my P-6831FX and had a few quick questions from folks who already changed out the processor. If i buy a new mobile intel retail cpu (T8300 or t9300) does it come with the thermal paste from intel, or do i have to pick up a tube. Also, what did you guys use to clean the old thermal paste off the heatsink. just wondered what was the easiest way to go about it.

    Any help is appreciated guys.

    thanks

No you need to get paste. Buy Arctic Silver and use isopropyl alcohol to clean to cpu. Be very careful with the north bridge thermal pad. If it folds it will never go back right. I used Arctic Silver on my north bridge because i could not get it to go right. It was not the right thickness and was making a gap on the cpu. So my cpu was getting very hot, about 180f.
