Ok , as adviced by people from this forum i got a new 320 WD HDD , I tried to RAID 0 it , and that worked ,

So i installed the vista 64 with the getaway cd , then i am finally able to get started with vista 64 ,

The problem is that when i installed the drivers , i have to restart my computer , so i did ,

After loading the Ram , a screen pop up , and say that windows system32 hal.dll is missing or corrupted ,

I tried to reinstall everything but still the same problem,

I searched and they say it is a boot problem , can anyone help me? Am i missing anything during the RAID 0

    Thank you,
    Eric

For one, did you do a low-level format of the new drive? Did you check the SMART status?

It is possible that the hard drive is DOA.

Did you install the 64-bit Intel RAID driver when you were installing Vista?

    Link

On the screen where you select the install partition there is an option to load driver. You can extract the files from the Intel download onto a USB memory stick or hard disk if you don't have a floppy drive.

I istalled Raid 0 on my P-171x fx with vista 64bit without a hitch, I did not load the Intel raid drivers until Vista was done installing. I updated all my drivers before vista could mess them up on windows update. It works great now.

It says the F6 installation method is not required for Microsoft Windows Vista but I would still recommend install it through the load driver option. It was obviously a Windows Update driver that caused your problem and it may well have been the RAID. Manually install as many of the latest drivers as you can directly from the manufacturers websites:

And the rest from gateway.com support (Hot Start Utility, RealTek Network, IDT/SigmaTel Audio and Webcam).

ertyouzh, I would get the above drivers, that is how I did it, I downloaded all the drivers to a jumpdrive, then installed them after a fresh install of vista 64bit.
