    GAH! BAH HUMBUG! GLORK! T_T I just visited the best buy website and they raised the gateway p6831fx from $1,350 to $1,699!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now it's NOT my dream laptop!

    Wow...I feel insanely embarrased and pissed at the same time. :S But did they seriously raise the prices to $1,700 just so the gap looks bigger?

    BS. The $1349 was an introductory sale price.

    But no matter how you cut it, an 8800m GTS for 1.2k is a great price.

    to customer , of course raising the price Is stupid. Im not sure how long the 1699 Price stayed up there. IF it didng stay for more than 15 days until sunday ur lucky. 1) if it wasnt 15 days, They probably want to Test how much customer would still get the gateway laptop despite of the raising price. 2) If it did stay up there for along time, they probably was losing customer, and wanted to make the customers get it again, but i wants it to not make the price abnormally Low. I think 1199 Is enough of a reduced price. If they make it 999 etc, That would make the laptop Looks cheap, And i hope it would bounce back to 1349 or more.

    Right.. and i guess Gateway listing the 6831 as MSRP of $1350- is a just a fluke too, right? :rolleyes:

    Or perhaps the fact that it is quoted that the price was raised because of sales volume, not an introductory price...

    I checked out the computer in the Best Buy intranet, the $1349 price had a clearly defined date period set up until last week.
