For the 6831FX...any experience with either anyone?? Obviously the HyperX is the more expensive and I believe just hit the market in April but wanting opinions. Running the stock memory which is fine but wanting to maxx it out with 4 gigs since I've already maxxed out on the CPU: X9000. I don't need the most expensive memory but thinking that there may be some advantage each brand has over the other...thank you.

One reviewer has used the G.Skill with what appears good success in his 6831 but no reviews at all as of yet for the HyperX...

If you search through the forums the consensus was it was not worth it with no "real world" advantages. You might gain something for 4gig dual channel but don't know if you could feel or measure any difference over 3gig and 32bit Vista/XP.

So in essence not really worth the money to upgrade in your opinion. Would that be correct Hydra?? Also, why search when I know your around bro.... :D

EDIT: Alright, did my homework and looked through quite a few threads and have decided to go with the less expensive of the two (G.Skill) and be prepared for perhaps a future install of Vista 64bit...hoping to see the difference crunching proteins as in "seconds less" rather than "minutes less" but regardless still a viable upgrade for me I believe....thanks for the assistance.

no. i bought the memory. tested it and no gain what so ever... 1/1000 of a second doesn't constitute a major performance upgrade....

    4-4-4-12
or use membeta 3 and run your 667 memory at 5-4-4-12 or 11
