Are you talking about the page file? I have mine set to off... I haven't really came across any problems so far... once steam told me I was running out of memory, but it was only at 50%

Sounds right. I have mine turned off. The more ram you have the less cache you want. You dont really want windows Disk Cache running becasue it first uses your ram than uses up hard drive space for all the copies. I actually use a USB with readyboost rather than my hard drive.

Just leave it checked (let windows manage disk cache)
With 4 Gb (4096Mb) of RAM, it is going to use that RAM first, and thus 99% of the time NEVER going to dip into your HD (as 99% of us wont utlize the full 4096Mb)

Sparkyman2000 isnt this what most people want...? to use there RAM first before dipping into HD space? If so, then that box should be checked (let windows manage paged file)

Looks like many people don't know how the swap file works...

Wait..maybe I am confused here...So since the 7805 has 4 Gb RAM should I just leave that option (let windows manage) unchecked for better performance? Thanks!

    From another site..is this true?
"If your system has memory of 2G and above, itÂ’s possible to turn off virtual memory and set no paging file at all. In fact, by doing so, Windows will probably run at faster speed."
