I wish I could. I don't have the time and the money to do so. I am even taking a huge risk with this one. There is no guarantee that next week bestbuys starts selling another gateway but with sli 9800 gts for $1300. If that happens I am screwed.

I don't think we will see any new gateway's for a little while...at least there isn't anything i've seen online that would indicate that.

My two cents... you're advertising to the wrong crowd. We're a group of individuals with a slightly higher than average amount of experience in computing, and we (or I, at least,) would rather have the opportunity to grab one from Tiger and upgrade it myself than not have the option thanks to businessmen such as yourself buying up stock.

Grabbing a dozen or so of these, thus taking away the opportunity for another dozen people to get their own inexpensive rig, then attempting to convince us to buy your upgraded units is a bit... rude? It's like removing someone's internal organs, leaving them in a tub full of ice cubes in a sleazy hotel, then offering to sell it back to them a few days later. This is an extreme example, but the concept is pretty much spot on. You're taking away an opportunity from us. Don't act like you're doing us a favor.

At least have the common sense to advertise to different clientele.

Very harsh words, I know, especially since this is my first post and all. Rest assured I'll be hitting refresh every 30 seconds or so the day after xmas @ tiger, hopefully I'll be able to get one (and only one) before they all get snatched up.

Eloquently waxing the same diatribe is still the same thing. It wasn't harsh. It was just saying the same thing again.

There are many levels of experience here, and while I am not saying he will be successful selling one of his souped up rigs to NBR users, it still boils down to complaining he bought an excess of units and somehow "denied" others from the opportunity and may have even added some type of insult to injury somehow by offering them here.

Best case, he sells them on eBay souped up.

Worst case, he sells them on eBay as is for a hundred or more than what he paid and makes a modest profit.

Time best spent is not railing on someone who is legitimately conducting business and effectively crying over some extra units you probably wouldn't have gotten anyhow but pounding the refresh button or looking elsewhere.

Keep in mind that I am also selling world wide so I am not taking away the opportunity to own one of these from everybody.

Has this horse died yet or can we beat him some more?

Ali saw an opportunity and took advantage of it. That's his right.

Some people that wanted one of those 7811s feel that it wasn't fair of Ail to do so. It's their right to feel that way. But why do they feel that way? Because he saw the link to those refurbed 7811s here he has to defer to others who saw it HERE first? I saw the refurbed 7811 on Tiger first and then found the OP had started this thread only moments before I was going to start a thread detailing my sighting. No doubt Ali has been keeping his eye out for deals.

Just a question, how many here went out or know someone who went out and bought PS3s or Wiis on their release date so they could sell them on ebay?

At least Ali is adding value to what he sells. The market will determine if there is a demand. Just because you don't see the value doen't mean no one else will.

Should I get the 3 year warranty from Tigerdirect? How much did you all pay for your warranty if you purchased one? Those who didnt, What do you think is a fair price for 3 years of protection?

    Thanks,
    S

For the price of the notebook just get a one year, you'll be able to afford a newer more up to date one in a year and a half anyways at this price.

I didn't get any warranty past what TD offered for free when I bought them. At $750.00 I consider them disposable. If for some reason something breaks and I can't easily fix it I will just part it out and be glad I got the chance to play with it for $750.00. :D
