I had to do a system recovery because I downloaded the Omega Drivers and mny computer kept saying that the settings were too low and just kept restarting itself, now everything is working fine again, but how do I install Catylist 5.10 everyone has for MX7515??? I Dont want to mess up anything. Please, because im a lil dumb and tryin to learn lol, can anyone type me a quick post with a small step by step directions on how to install better drivers that is almost impossible to mess up my computer and end up having to do another system restore? one more thing. I have the files but didnt launch them yet. I downloaded and luanched though the mIcrosoft.NET framwork 1.1, thats in my computer. So, I have the MX7515, it is brand new, got it yesterday and didnt do anything to it yet. SO the question is, since everything is factory installed, do I use the Catalyst Uninstaller for any previous ATI software and then launch the new Catalyst 5.10 with Catalyst COntrol Center? Please someone, let me know asap.. thank you...

Hey Mantis! You and me are alot alike (yo!) I'm super stoked about my new 7515. I'm going to try and help you, because you are asking the right questions.

Unfortunately, I have never upgraded the video drivers. But I did find a good site on speeding up WinXP ( http://techyogurt.com/?p=12 ) Check that site out and see how far you get.

About the video drivers.... What are you doing? I would go to the device manager and select update drivers and then browse to the downloaded files - Also, I would stay away from the control center - just download the minimum.

hmmmm.... I dound this site about the new drivers http://www.tweakguides.com/ATICAT_1.html

it's kinda technical and might be over your head ( it's over mine. lol)

    right on,
    Newman

    PS: don't call yourself dumb.

well i did what the thing said and what i said i was going to do on my last post and I uninstalled with the program they recommended and guess what. It uninstalled everything, I mean I tried after uninstalling all ATI compatable components with software they recommend you downloading and then when i tried to do the Catalyst 5.10 dl it couldnt do it because my x600 video card was uninstalled and i couldnt install the CGA compatable driver for it so I just did a system recovery again for second time in second day of having this comp lol. Its a pain I keep re dling all the progs and I just got done, I started at 2 and now it is 5:11 a.m. eastern. imgoing to save myself trouble and next time once a month just use update driver in the hardware properties...

hmmm... I downloaded this link for the Installation Verification Software
    https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894

When I run it, it says I don't have a compatible computer. ??? Is the MX 7515 compatible with the latest drivers?

Mantis, sorry you are having troubles with this. I'm going to be cautious... I don't DON"T want to reinstall all my stuff.

The X600 does not supprt the Catalyst drivers.
ATI has a utility on their site that you can download to see if the Catalyst drivers work on your setup.
