Hi, first post here. I have a Gateway Solo 5300 laptop and a blown speaker. I'm not interested in sending the laptop out for a $300+ 1" speaker repair/replacement with the chance that somehow the techs might erase my harddrive. I am looking for a way to repair or replace this blown speaker. I've searced the net and called local area shops and didn't find much help. I did find a Chassis top for other Gateway models that come with the speakers and mousepad, from Mundo Corp., but the top chassis for the 5300 doesn't include speakers. If there is no other option, I'm OK with using my headphones since they sound better, but when the time comes, I'd like to give this laptop to my son, in good working condition. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
