Hi guys, I just went through a conundrum in which I followed the guide in taking apart my gateway fx 6831 because it was over heating to clean it. All went well but upon reassembly it would not turn on. My friend who owns a laptop repair on the side said the little plastic part that holds down the power button ribbon under the media bar was broken off, and tape would not work because of a lack of electrical connection. He is saying the only way to fix this is to buy a new motherboard that would have this plastic comb on it or somehow find someone with a soldering station and another one of those little plastic teeth. So my questions are

1: Is it possible to find this plastic piece and have someone solder it back on?
2: If I have to get a new motherboard I might as well want to get something updated, are there any other motherboards I can get off ebay that are compatible with my chasis, and the T9300 upgraded CPU I have in there?

    Thanks for the help.
