My Gateway FX laptop's charging port recently fried. I'm trying to replace the chip that has 2 usb connections, the charging port, and a dial up connection port all on the one small chip. Where the charging port connects to the chip is burnt and when plugged into a charger produces sparks.

This is the specific chip, located at the top left portion of the laptop.

Gateway techs are trying to make me pay 400$ to have the motherboard replaced. However its not a mb issue.

Is there any other way to obtain this specific chip so I can once again be able to charge my battery so I can use my laptop?

    Thanks for your time

Yes this is it, sadly its sold out, but I added my name to waiting list. Is this a reliable site when it comes to restocking?

Thanks again, and if anyone else has a site that has it in stock please let me know.
